The gardens and the cloisters of Lisbon’s Museums will once again host a celebration of video art in our city.
We will screen a selection from past editions of the FUSO contest open call, distinct programs that highlight the Portuguese video art, as well as works that juxtapose traditional and contemporary videoart languages; works on the border of video, performance and film, selected specifically for FUSO and presented by international curators.
Gathering artists, curators, a large general public, experts, directots of substantial videoart collections and directors of national art institutions involved in this contemporary practice, we will see works from North and South America, Europe and Middle East. Ernesto de Sousa, creator of the first video art event in Portugal in the 70s, will be the honored artist. The carte blanche to a national artist will be given this year to Miguel Palma.
